Yellow Rose Spanish Mustangs

Choctaw Ponies

At ThoroVet, our animals are family too. We couldn't resist introducing you to Lloyd and Anne Marie's conservation herd of Colonial Spanish Mustang (Choctaw Ponies) of the Blackjack Mountain. "Sundance" the boy (named after the Sundance Kid), "Etta" (named after the Sundance Kid's girlfriend, Etta Place), Kitty (named after Ms. Kitty from Gunsmoke) and newest family member "Anne Maries Star" or Star for short. All 4 came to us originally from Antlers Oklahoma and are now living as rock stars at Lloyd and Anne Marie's ranch in Burton TX. where they enjoy mud pond baths and lots of cookies. These ponies are genetic treasures and part of history as they are decendants of the horses that accompanied the Native American Indians on the "Trail of Tears" in the 1830's. Their legacy is a fascinating journey through American history and has been a source of inspiration for our CEO, Lloyd Schwing.
